Thomas A. McAndrews, CPM® & CSM® CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND PRESIDENT |
As President of Tiarna Real Estate Services, Inc., Thomas A. McAndrews oversees the administration of management, leasing, accounting, and construction departments within the company. Currently, he is directing the four regional offices that manage in excess of 16 million square feet of commercial real estate located throughout California, Colorado, and Arizona. Mr. McAndrews’ objective as President is to ensure that the needs of our clients are exceeded and that the employees are properly trained and motivated.
Mr. McAndrews holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Irvine. While at U.S.C., Mr. McAndrews received the Philip E. Morris scholarship as the outstanding real estate student. He was also named to the honorary business fraternity, Phi Kappa Sigma, and graduated with honors.
Prior to forming Tiarna in April of 2000, Mr. McAndrews was president of Charles Dunn Company and directed 8 regional offices that managed over 30 million square feet of commercial real estate, valued in excess of three billion dollars. Since 1982, Mr. McAndrews has acquired expertise in apartment management, receiverships, leasing, construction supervision, asbestos abatement, sprinkler retrofit and commercial/industrial property management. His strengths include an in-depth financial and accounting background, excellent working relationships with owners and tenants, and extensive knowledge of the financial, tax, and legal implications of real estate investment.
In his involvement with receiverships dating back to 1983, Mr. McAndrews has managed office, hotel, industrial, retail, and residential properties under receivership in Kern, El Dorado, Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, San Diego, Riverside and Ventura Counties. He has been a court appointed receiver in several dozens of cases involving lenders such as Bank of America, Bank of the West, Far East National Bank, Household Commercial, MassMutual, MetLife, Principal Financial, Prudential Insurance, Sanwa Bank, Tokai Bank and Union Bank of California.
Mr. McAndrews has received a Certified Property Manager (CPM®) designation from and is a National Instructor with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®) and a Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM®) designation from the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC®). He is currently a member of ICSC®, IREM®, the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA®), and holds Brokers licenses in the states of California and Arizona. Tom is a member of the Los Angeles chapter of the Young President’s Organization, The Los Angeles Country Club, The California Club, and the Jonathan Club in Los Angeles.
